Nigeria Comes to Taiwan for Procurement, Favoring Taiwanese Medical Products
Taiwan successfully taps into the Nigerian market opportunities. Organized by the International Trade Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and executed by the Trade Association, the "Nigeria Procurement Briefing and Negotiation Meeting" was held today. There were a total of eight buying representatives from Nigeria, attracting 30 domestic suppliers for 44 sessions of negotiations, resulting in business opportunities worth 3.14 million US dollars. Taiwanese medical products such as Zhengguang Golden Silk Ointment were highly favored by Nigerian buyers.
The "Nigeria Procurement Briefing and Negotiation Meeting" took place this afternoon at the Taipei World Trade Center. The Trade Association stated that the eight members of the Nigerian delegation were professionals in the fields of medicine, building materials, and food machinery distribution in Nigeria. The procurement items included food machinery, packaging machinery, food, security, building materials, medical, and safety equipment, among others. The head of the delegation, Mr. ALH. Gani. O. Abogunloko, President of Ganni-Ola Safes & Doors Ltd., mentioned that Taiwanese products may not compete based on low prices, but they are of high quality and reliability. He highly recommended Nigerian businesses to purchase various products and equipment from Taiwan.
Out of the five buying representatives, Ace Medicare Clinics, which owns a large-scale general hospital, has had limited exposure to Taiwanese medical equipment in the past. Their primary purpose for coming to Taiwan this time is to expand and comprehensively procure hospital equipment and consumables. They spoke highly of the quality of the products presented by our businesses during the negotiation meeting.
Meanwhile, the attending Taiwanese medical material industry representatives expressed that although the African market has great development potential, the export of domestic medical equipment to the local market is mostly through European third-country distributors. There is less direct contact with buyers face-to-face. This time, the Trade Association invited many medical industry representatives to Taiwan for negotiations, allowing manufacturers to directly communicate with them. This is very beneficial for manufacturers to understand the actual needs and expand into the African market. Products such as Hauméd's blood glucose meter and Zhengguang Pharmaceutical's Zhengguang Golden Silk Ointment patch were highly favored by the buyers.
