Pingtung Gaoshumixiang International Marathon

To promote nationwide sports exchange and market local agricultural products, beautiful natural scenery, and the simple local customs, this marathon combines with the local date palm festival series of activities in Gaoshu Township to promote local tourism and agricultural development, allowing more marathon enthusiasts to experience the beauty of Gaoshu Township in Pingtung.

Mayor Liao Wen-Xian stated that last year, the Gaoshu Township government for the first time combined the marathon with the local date palm festival, hosting the first Honeyland International Marathon competition, promoting sports exchange while boosting local tourism. Runners from various places came to Gaoshu, not only enjoying the joy of the marathon for improved health but also savoring high-quality dates.

In this year's second marathon competition, the theme is "Home, the distance of 42.195 kilometers," symbolizing the strong yearning of many expatriates who are working abroad to return home.
