The 2015 Guangxi (Nanning) Taiwan Excellence Expo, jointly organized by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government and the Taiwan Trade Center, successfully concluded on June 1st. Over the course of four days, the event attracted a total of 153,000 visitors, including both the general public and buyers, leading to business opportunities valued at 1.662 billion RMB.


According to reports from Taiwan, this year's Taiwan Excellence Expo was held at Halls 1-3 of the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, featuring four themed pavilions: Taiwan Premium Pavilion, Traditional Chinese Medicine Pavilion, Health and Medical Aesthetics Pavilion, and Health and Medical Aesthetics Experience Pavilion. The event also included seven industry zones: Leisure and Daily Living Products, Apparel and Accessories, Cultural and Creative Arts, Beauty and Wellness, Agricultural and Food Products, Taiwanese Tea, and Urban Specialty Products. It highlighted three main themes: Green Living with High-Tech Innovations, Tourism, Beauty, and New Medical Practices, and the New Face of Traditional Medicine. The expo showcased over 15,000 innovative and creative products from more than 400 well-known Taiwanese enterprises.


The Taiwan Premium Pavilion, a featured section within the Taiwan Excellence Expo, showcased 73 exhibitors and 137 products. It received a warm reception from the public, with tens of thousands of visitors streaming in daily for the experience. Creative products such as the "Mengqi Pen," eco-friendly "Corn Utensils" with a focus on green sustainability, and the world's thinnest 3.2 cm industrial flat-panel computer, as well as the patented "Stone Paper," garnered significant attention and prompted numerous inquiries and purchases on the spot.


One of the most eye-catching exhibits in the Technology Application Experience Pavilion was the Smart Agriculture System, which provides a one-stop solution for seeding, seedling nurturing, artificial lighting, soil management, fertilization, disinfection, LED artificial lighting, environmental temperature and humidity control, and lighting management through the use of thin-film solar panels for power generation. Exhibitor Zhaoki International reached an intention with a local large-scale agricultural developer in Nanning to introduce this Smart Agriculture System.


Making its debut at the Taiwan Excellence Expo, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Pavilion combined the advantages of Guangxi's traditional Chinese medicine resources, creating a platform for cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine research and development between Guangxi and Taiwan. The pavilion also set up a special area for Chinese medicine health consultation services, where professional Taiwanese Chinese medicine practitioners provided consultation services on-site, attracting crowds of people and igniting a trend of "health and wellness." Among them, products like throat lozenges developed using Guangxi Luo Han Guo as the main ingredient, along with Taiwan's traditional medicine powerhouse Cheng-Kuang Pharmaceuticals' herbal ointments, became popular items among the public.


In the Health and Medical Aesthetics Pavilion, hyaluronic acid drinks, face masks, and health-enhancing products like black fungus beverages became favorites among female "fans." Some small and medium-sized exhibitors also secured orders and reached procurement agreements through one-on-one negotiations.


The Agricultural and Food Products zone showcased even more "Taiwanese" flavors, with enthusiastic and energetic vendors attracting large crowds and creating a lively atmosphere. The booth of Taiwan Hai Rui Food Co., Ltd. drew a large crowd. Mr. Huang Shikai, the head of Hai Rui, stated that sales were very good, with a high acceptance of traditional Taiwanese snacks among the public. Additionally, they attracted discussions on procurement with several large supermarkets in Guangxi, including Lianhua Supermarket.
