Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage Guide: Prevention and Treatment of Blisters
The Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage is about to begin, and during these nine days of
the journey, it's crucial for the devotees carrying the incense to be
equipped with some important information, especially regarding the
prevention and treatment of blisters. It's common for people to inquire
about blister management at the Cheng Kuang booth during the Dajia Mazu
procession. Therefore, I'd like to share some tips in advance.
Tips for Preventing Blisters
During long walks, to reduce friction on your feet, you can apply adhesive tape to the soles of your feet or apply some ointment between your toes beforehand. This can effectively reduce the friction between your feet and thereby decrease the likelihood of blisters forming.
Tips for Dealing with Blisters
Even if you take preventive measures, sometimes blisters may still occur. When dealing with blisters, there are several important points to keep in mind.
Handling Small Blisters
Firstly, if it's a "small blister," never pop it casually. Popping a small blister not only increases the pain but also raises the risk of infection.
Handling Large Blisters
For "large blisters," ensure proper disinfection to avoid infection. Avoid cutting off the blistered skin, as it reduces the risk of wound infection. You can apply adhesive tape or a blister pad over the blister to protect it and reduce pain.
